Recently, we signed an agreement with our longtime hosting partners EZProvider Networks Inc. to purchase the ResellerDynamic and WebsiteDynamics business from us. They have been great partners, great friends and are also people we've trusted to help us keep our software running for over 15 years.
The goal of the transition is to be as seamless as possible. Our support staff Sean and Jie will be moving to EZProvider to continue providing the service that you're used to and there will be no changes in prices or commissions. With respect to the changeover and how it affects you, primarily it will be a matter of our canceling your existing agreement with MeZine and you signing a similar agreement with EZProvider. The changeover will happen on October 31st, 2022.
Our entire staff wanted to thank you for choosing us to be your partners and we wish you the best in the future. We're confident that EZProvider will continue to be a good home for you as they have been for us, often going above and beyond what has been required.
Below is an introduction to EZProvider, how you and your customers may be affected, how the transfer will take place and FAQs.
We have been partners and friends with EZProvider (https://www.ezp.net/) since we first launched our original website builder CityMax.com. They have been a pivotal part of our operations including:
EZProvider is the only company we felt we could completely trust to take good care of our customers. Like MeZine, they are based in Vancouver, Canada. You can learn more about them on their website.
Not much will change. EZProvider is keeping the technology as is and all the computer equipment will be kept in the same location. In practical terms, there are only 2 significant changes. Resellers will receive payouts from EZProvider in the future. Your customers will be paying EZProvider instead of MeZine. The credit card statement, however, will still say WEBSITEDYNAMICS.COM like your customers are accustomed to now.
Shortly, you will receive written notice that MeZine Inc. would like to terminate our reseller agreement with you effective October 31, 2022. Per the clause for termination, we are required to give at least 30 days notice.
If you signed up under our older licensing program, those of you who earned at least one payout in the last 12 months will receive a new reseller contract from EZProvider to begin November 1, 2022. There will be a licensing fee of one dollar (1) USD. This small amount is to make explicit that a contract has been made under Canadian law. For more information, please see “Billing Transition Procedure for your Customers” and “FAQs for Resellers Staying.”
If you are a subscription reseller, you do not have to do anything. The first time you log in to ResellerDynamics.com, you will automatically be under EZProvider’s Terms of Service. For more information, please see “Billing Transition Procedure for your Customers” and “FAQs for Resellers Staying.”
If you have not earned at least one payout in the last 12 months, unfortunately EZProvider will not be sending you the new licensing agreement for existing resellers. You do, however, have some other options whether you decide you would like to keep being a reseller or not. Please see “FAQs for Resellers Cancelling.”
For those of you staying, we will work with EZProvider to transfer your customers to EZProvider’s payment processing in batches at the end of each month beginning in June, but only after the contract is signed and licensing fee collected. Other than the merchant account changing, all billing will work exactly the same. Our goal is to have all customers moved over by the end of September. A more detailed description of this process is below.
One Month Before: Your customers will be given notice of the billing change via email and system notice (this is the yellow box that appears at the top of your customers’ dashboards).
One Week Before: Your customers will receive a second email reminder.
One Day Before: Your customers will have received a third email reminder.
Three Months After the Transition Day: The system notice will be removed.
Four years ago, we did a similar transition when we changed the merchant account (credit card processing account) for all our web builders. We will ensure:
In particular, some credit card companies may decline the fee even with the same description because they can see that the account number is different. In those cases, we will guide your customers to contact their credit card provider to give permission. In a few cases, your customers will have a few hours window for us to charge which we can also accommodate. Once the charge goes through, usually there are no other difficulties with future charges.
Will my reseller payouts and fees be the same as they are with MeZine?
Yes. There are no plans for any changes. Note that this is not a guarantee it will stay this way once you are moved to EZProvider.
When will my customers be notified of the change?
After we receive your newly signed contract with EZProvider and $1 payment, we will inform you what date the transition will be on. Generally, we will be batching website builders in groups at the end of each month.
Will I be able to keep my existing free reseller websites?
Yes, arrangements will stay the same for any resellers moving to EZProvider.
I do not have any paying clients, but I still wish to be a reseller. What options do I have?
We welcome you to sign up with the reseller subscription plan whereby there is a fee of $49.99 per month. As you sign up customers, you can eventually earn enough to cover the fee. More info may be found here: https://www.resellerdynamics.com/. You have the option to keep the same website builder domain if you wish.
What happens to my domain name and emails if my reseller contract is cancelled?
You have the option to have your domain transferred to your ownership for free. You would then be responsible for paying for future renewals of it. Our support team can help you with this. If you have emails, we will no longer be hosting them. We recommend saving copies of any important messages or all your messages if that’s easier. A support agent can assist you with the process. You may then set up the same email address with another provider (typically you can renew your domain and set up your emails through the same provider).
What happens if I no longer wish to have a reseller contract? What happens to my customers?
The contract with MeZine will still cancel at the end of October 31, 2022 or you may request in writing (email to info@resellerdynamics.com is fine) that you wish to cancel your contract earlier. If you don’t have any customers, we will close your website and you have the option to transfer the domain to your ownership to manage and pay for directly. If you do have customers, we can take over your builder and your customers. Note that you will not receive any payouts after that.
My reseller contract is cancelling, but I have free sites that I wish to keep. What will happen to them?
Please contact us and we can move them to CityMax.com and give you a deep discount of 80% off (you would only pay $5 per month). This will only apply to free websites added before May 1, 2022. Any future websites would be charged at full price. To get the discount, you must contact us before October 1, 2022. You will not be charged until after November 1, 2022 even though your website is moved before that.
Please contact us and we would be happy to answer your questions.
We feel fortunate to have worked with all our resellers. Some of you have been with us for over 10 and even 15 years. We are a small company that started in the basement of a house and at our peak, grew to 3 offices in downtown Vancouver. MeZine is not disappearing, we will continue on with other products (see wysimark.com). It is with excitement and hope that we are passing you on to EZProvider.
We are extremely grateful for every reseller and every customer. We wish you all the best in the future.
